Custom Tool Design & Prototyping
A good tool starts with a good design. Our design department has the experience and expertise to produce the best possible tooling solution for your final part. From We medical and dental tool prototyping to complex mold prototyping services, our team works with you to design and build your custom tool.
Rapid Prototyping
Not ready to make a full-scale mold for your part? Want to test a few different ideas first? The Toolroom has just what you need. We can take you through rapid prototyping, where we create a scaled version of your desired part using CAD data to quickly make a scaled model of the part you want to create. We can help you develop and produce short runs of your custom rubber or plastic part as many times as you to help you get to the finished product you want. This is advantageous to you because you can experiment and learn from each prototype and do product testing, proofing and inspection before you go into the more expensive, final production for the part.
Time is of the essence and you need to get prototypes in your hands as quickly as possible. We will work with you up front and utilize design for manufacturability practices to ensure efficiency at each step. Attention to detail and clear communication with the customer are important to us. We have 7 workstations between our design and programming departments that run Siemens NX software. To support our rapid prototyping for parts, The Toolroom also has one seat of Autocad Inventor. Our ultimate goal is to meet the customer’s exact needs, regardless of their background in the prototyping process. Whatever your needs for your custom plastic or rubber part, The Toolroom is here to help you through each step of the production of your plastic or rubber part.
Medical and Dental Tool Prototypes
As part of our diversified mold prototyping capabilities, we create plastic injection molds for medical and dental tools. These molds usually are made from stainless steel to minimize the risk of rust inhibiting parts created from the molds. In addition to medical/dental tool mold prototyping, The Toolroom also runs the actual production of parts based on those molds using plastic resin grades required for specialty medical instruments along with adherence to clean production processes.
